And the winner is....

Hello!

Here are the winning patterns from last weeks vote! Racing ahead in the lead was option number 9 - This rather jazzy red and peach number. SO much love for this design, I'm so pleased you voted it number 1 because I don't think I really noticed it among the contenders.

This lovely mustard colour came in 2nd place. I think these 2 patterns compliment each other beautifully and they're heading to the printers! Can't wait to list the finished scarves in the shop! I'll keep you posted and thanks again for helping me pick some designs!!

new beads

Hello friends.

I've been putting together some new necklaces for the shop and done a small batch of these slightly simplified designs (I mean... they're still covered in wacky patterns but they're a little subtler in size and shape). If ever I try and keep a necklace (which is often) I instantly go for these sized beads... they're so easy to wear and brighten up any outfit. OH and speaking of brightening up outfits - I've got some SUPER FANCY new silk scarf samples on their way! I just need to kick this stupid cold in the butt and take some semi-smart photos and hey presto - IT'LL BE SAMPLE SALE TIME. Oh boy I can't wait to show you!

Patterns patterns patterns, round 2!

The patterns continue! Here are a few of my favourite so far and now I look at them, they've all been drawn on my ipad! Funny how we go through phases of creating things. Anyway I honestly don't think I can pick a favourite yet, but I'm loving the faces and some of the more splodgy ones. I'm nearly up to 40/100 (phew!). 100 day projects ARE HARD but totally worth it I have to admit...

pattern mad

Hello friends! If you follow me on instagram you might've noticed my obsession with patterns. Well, I set my self the challenge of creating 100 patterns over 100 days. A pattern a day! I'm on pattern 12 today and thought it'd be nice to pick out a few of my favourites so far. For the full set, videos and much much more head over to my instagram (@amyjpeg) and take a peek. I'll keep you updated with the creme de la creme here as the project progresses :)

Happy doodling!

Sketchbook number 2!

Video time! Here's the other sketchbook I'm using at the moment. This ones the neater of the 2 and gradually filling up with patterns and portraits. I prime the pages with blocks of acrylic colour and then draw on them with paint pens. I probably don't need to prime the pages in this one but I find the ink from the pens causes the pages to fall apart in most of my sketchbooks so this is a tactical way around it. It uses up excess paint I've accidentally mixed for other projects too which is an added bonus. Not to mention the obvious block colour background helps make the colours pop. So there's 3 good reasons! It's definitely work in progress.

New cards

The sun is shining and here are some new treats for the shop! Remember a while back I tackled my creative rut by doing some random doodling? I picked a couple of my favourite designs and turned them into cards! I'm so pleased with how they've come out, and now they're in the shop! Each design's available individually and now I've just added the plant designs as a set in case you fancied treating yourself to the collection! Here's a link!

Sketchbook time!

Hello friends!

I thought it'd be nice to share some of my newest sketchbook doodles. I've been hard at work on little secret projects for people so haven't been able to share anything pretty with you but last week I managed to cram in a bit of sketchbook doodling and these are a handful of my favourite pages so far. I'm still drawing the faces - I can't seem to get enough of these ladies and I'm loving how they're slowly taking shape! I want to paint one up big to hang in my new bedroom but I'm waiting for that dream colour combo inspiration to hit.

The plants, oh be still my heart, those plants! Since I moved house I just want to fill the place with green plants. I only have very shallow window ledges (at the moment!) so they're gradually commandeering the dining chairs and stools, obviously... priorities and all that, ha! Anyway I'm just having to make do with some new plant drawings. I'm keeping them quite simple compared to some of the earlier designs but I'm tempted to paint some up big or possibly get some converted into risograph prints, what do you think??

shop update!

Hey homies! Just a quick note to let you know I've just popped a couple of new necklaces in the shop, HURRAH! Totally smitten for neon peachy pink colours at the moment. Can you tell??

A lot of lovely folk ask if these beauties will ever be available for wholesale - unfortunately not these ones. I am planning some slightly simpler designs though that could work! So keep you eyes peeled and hopefully these ideas will start to take shape over the summer!

Progress

I finished the drawings!!!

With all the bonkers, boring and stressful house stuff going on at the minute this project was a welcome distraction - AND I've started playing around with some ideas inspired by a few of the drawings, success! I love all of them - which is crazy as I figured there would be a couple of duds, but it was so pleasing watching the collection grow and seeing them grouped together at the end.

Highly recommend this as a way to break through a creative jam if you ever find yourself in one. Out of curiosity - What sort of projects do you set yourselves in these situations?

I've spent today scanning them all and I'll be listing the originals up on instagram this week if you fancy buying a bargain! hurrah!

sketchbook time!

I finished another little sketchbook the other month (and did a little video over on instagram - take a peek if you like). I picked out some of my favourite pages for this blog post. I've now got 3 new sketchbooks on the go (?! ...a bit ambitious I know, but I'm going to rise to the challenge...). One's turning into an extra scruffy one, mainly because of the nature of the thin paper, but I'm loving the freedom it's giving me to plot and plan the bigger paintings. I've been so busy with house move prep I think my pens have started to sulk and feel neglected. Poor pens. I've not forgotten you, honest!

new necklaces!

It's been another busy week with the house - the mothership's visiting so we've been clearing things out and emptying spaces so the move next month (possibly the end of this month?!) goes ahead smoothly.

Today I put together a bunch of new necklaces and they're now in the shop. Some of my all time favourite colour combos crop up in this batch. Can't get enough of that lime/yellowy colour with black dots or stripes on... be still my heart!

Anyway! All these beauties are one of a kind and available over at the Audrey and Illya shop!

a book for paper lovers!

Hurrah! This amazing bundle of wonderfulness landed with a thud on the doorstep the other day. So excited to share some of the designs I did for the new Book For Paper Lovers by Flow Magazine. There's even a picture of my face, gulp. The book's beautifully put together and absolutely stuffed full of paper projects, inspiration and treats. There's some wrapping paper and gift tags featuring my designs but I won't say what else or I'll spoil the surprise. Here's a peek though! You can pick up a copy here!

Oh Baubles!

Just finished a bunch of these ready for the Nottingham Contemporary craft fair next month (NEXT MONTH??! Where's this year going?!). Anyway, there will be a few bunches of painted cotton spools and some individual patterned baubles up for grabs. All super limited! So put the dates in your diary and head on over - 2nd - 4th December, Nottingham Contemporary. See you soon!
