Brass hands!

Hello! Wow I didn't even have a chance to write a post to promote these beauties before they all sold out. I'm so pleased with how they came out and I have more on the way so if you don't want to miss out this time you can pre-order yourself a pair! The "Pre-order" listing is now in the shop. Your earrings will be shipped out no later than Monday 4th June - unless that's another bank holiday I've overlooked. I swear proper functioning Mondays are becoming rare over here...

Anyway,  a little bit about these brass beauties. The shapes, I'm sure some of you recognise them, are taken from my hand patterns from earlier in the year - possibly last year. The shapes themselves are made from brass and have a lovely weight to them. The earring hooks and attachments are 24k gold vermeil (similar to plate but a better option for people with metal allergies because the base metal is sterling silver). There are a few more details over on the listing - measurements and the like but if you have any questions feel free to get in touch! I'm so in love with these new products I just want to make more... what other shapes would you like to see??

The times are changing...

Hello friends, I have some news to share with you guys today. Our lovely little project "Audrey and Illya" will be shutting up shop at the end of this month, sad times! BUT I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you SO MUCH for the support and kind words you've given us since we opened our virtual doors in 2013. It's been so much fun!

FEAR NOT me and the magical Leanne will both continue to create and sell our wonderful trinkets. Last summer Leanne and her partner in crime launched the amazing online shop MILKSPROUT! Head over and check out all those dreamy treats. To keep up to date with their projects, events and wares here are a few links for you:

And you know me, I can't stop making things and will be relaunching my solo shop where you'll be able to find all of the familiar faces and some super duper new stuff too. I'm also taking on more commissions and digital work so if you've a project in mind drop me an email and check my availability! I'd love to hear from you :)

Thanks again from us both for such an amazing few years and keep in touch with both of us!

FABRIC FINALLY

Well THIS is a bit exciting... I got some fabric samples back and to celebrate I've just made all of the patterns available to purchase through my spoonflower shop! During the pattern project I set myself last year so many of you requested fabric and it's always been something high up on my ever growing 'to do' list. I was over the moon when my samples finally arrived and my brain is literally buzzing with projects and possibilities. If you're interested in getting creative and treating yourself to some new fabric for your stash or a new sewing project you have lined up, here's a link! I've also popped a handy little link to my spoonflower shop on the menu bar of my site for easy access.

I reckon I'm going to be switching around availability of certain designs - mainly to keep the selection fresh and up to date with current work but I haven't properly decided just yet. So I thought I'd make them all available for the time being. I'm still churning out new patterns and revisiting older ones from earlier in the pattern project so expect plenty of updates!

ps - ANYTHING you do make please send me photos, I would love to see what you do with these designs!!

Hey! Look who's back?!

Look who's back in stock! I've spent today tidying up the webshop and making some of the prints look super fancy (aka, popping them in a frame) and I totally stumbled across a couple of these dudes! I thought I'd sold out last summer, whoops! Well turns out not to be the case so there are 5 left in the shop at a bargain price of £15 each.

This A3 print is a risograph I designed and made during a print workshop hosted by the awesome team at Dizzy ink here in Nottingham. The creative community here in this fine and bumpy city is growing and growing and it's amazing getting opportunities to team up with fellow makers.

Anyway this 3 colour print is super limited so snap one up while you can! Here's a link to the shop!

New work

These 2 new faces are some of my favourite portraits to date I think. I love the simplicity (even though I have an inner urge just to smother them in patterns and clashing colours... I'm going to resist for now). I've decided to print them up nice and big and they're now in the shop if you'd like to snap up a copy. They'll only be available for a limited time though. If you're interested in purchasing the originals I'm selling them each for £120 + postage. Feel free to drop me a message! They're much brighter in person too! Lovely colours to work with... Here's a link to the prints in the shop!

pattern mad

Hello friends! If you follow me on instagram you might've noticed my obsession with patterns. Well, I set my self the challenge of creating 100 patterns over 100 days. A pattern a day! I'm on pattern 12 today and thought it'd be nice to pick out a few of my favourites so far. For the full set, videos and much much more head over to my instagram (@amyjpeg) and take a peek. I'll keep you updated with the creme de la creme here as the project progresses :)

Happy doodling!

Sketchbook number 2!

Video time! Here's the other sketchbook I'm using at the moment. This ones the neater of the 2 and gradually filling up with patterns and portraits. I prime the pages with blocks of acrylic colour and then draw on them with paint pens. I probably don't need to prime the pages in this one but I find the ink from the pens causes the pages to fall apart in most of my sketchbooks so this is a tactical way around it. It uses up excess paint I've accidentally mixed for other projects too which is an added bonus. Not to mention the obvious block colour background helps make the colours pop. So there's 3 good reasons! It's definitely work in progress.

COMIC time

Hello lovely humans!

'Want to know a fun* fact about me? (*Debatable) I'm a diary keeper. It's nothing fancy and most definitely not a number one best seller but I started writing a few things down last October and I've managed to keep it up to this day - which is less than a year so it's not saying much! But it speaks volumes to me, ha! It started out as one of those 'line a day' journals and now it's turning into a 'line and a bit a day' journal. I try to pick out little moments in the day that either made me laugh, cry, think, pause or simply pat myself on the back. Some of the entries can literally be as dull as 'I hung up the washing', but sometimes that's exactly the kind of action that needs to be recognised because not every day can fill you with that sense of accomplishment. And also I figured in years to come (possibly) it might be actually quite interesting to look back and read about all those little moments...

ANYWAY! I thought it'd be fun to try and put a few of these little memories into pictures - I've always wanted to have a go at scribbling down some little autobiographical comics and thought what better place to begin. Who knows it might be a new little side project that takes off, no pressure, but for now it's refreshing to try something completely new.

Drawings for sale!

I've just popped a few of my recent portraits in the Audrey and Illya shop! It's so much fun watching this collection of faces grow and spark new ideas for the next. Every time I finish one I think "MORE", "AGAIN AGAIN", "NOW" - which is quite refreshing post drawing block.

Anyway head over to the shop to see whats up for grabs - I've snuck in a couple of super post May Day bargains too, hurrah!

I've got an afternoon of 'sketchbooking' planned so be prepared for doodle updates/doodle spam over on my instagram (username @amyjpeg).

Enjoy!
