The times are changing...

Hello friends, I have some news to share with you guys today. Our lovely little project "Audrey and Illya" will be shutting up shop at the end of this month, sad times! BUT I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you SO MUCH for the support and kind words you've given us since we opened our virtual doors in 2013. It's been so much fun!

FEAR NOT me and the magical Leanne will both continue to create and sell our wonderful trinkets. Last summer Leanne and her partner in crime launched the amazing online shop MILKSPROUT! Head over and check out all those dreamy treats. To keep up to date with their projects, events and wares here are a few links for you:

And you know me, I can't stop making things and will be relaunching my solo shop where you'll be able to find all of the familiar faces and some super duper new stuff too. I'm also taking on more commissions and digital work so if you've a project in mind drop me an email and check my availability! I'd love to hear from you :)

Thanks again from us both for such an amazing few years and keep in touch with both of us!

new work

I've made a few new portraits this week and decided to pop them in the shop! Here's a link!  I've made some scans of them too and next week I'll have a go at playing around with scale and possible prints. I've also been playing around with some brush pens and now I'm inundated with pretty little faces. I have a few to give away so I'll add them as a little thank you gift to the next handful of orders made through the online shop.

I'm off to have a quiet Saturday evening out of the rain. Have a lovely weekend folks!

These little line drawings will be dished out among the next handful of orders from the online shop!

New cards

The sun is shining and here are some new treats for the shop! Remember a while back I tackled my creative rut by doing some random doodling? I picked a couple of my favourite designs and turned them into cards! I'm so pleased with how they've come out, and now they're in the shop! Each design's available individually and now I've just added the plant designs as a set in case you fancied treating yourself to the collection! Here's a link!

shop update!

Hey homies! Just a quick note to let you know I've just popped a couple of new necklaces in the shop, HURRAH! Totally smitten for neon peachy pink colours at the moment. Can you tell??

A lot of lovely folk ask if these beauties will ever be available for wholesale - unfortunately not these ones. I am planning some slightly simpler designs though that could work! So keep you eyes peeled and hopefully these ideas will start to take shape over the summer!

New necklaces.

Added a couple of new necklaces to the shop this week. In full production mode at the moment getting ready for the fairs, can't seem to make enough beads! I lose hours in the evenings doodling all over them. The cats having a field day trying to swipe them off the sofa when I'm not looking... typical.

Here are 2 of my favourites (If I could justify keeping them all I would, argh!)

Esmé

I'm thoroughly enjoying working on some new portraits after churning out so many cacti pictures over the summer. It makes such a nice change adapting all the patterns I've been developing and merging them with the ladies and their flower crowns. I recently bit the bullet and invested in an ipad too (a present to myself for the next 4 Christmases I reckon). I think of it as my digital sketchbook - don't panic, my scribbly paper ones are still in use and I'll make sure there's an update soon to prove it!

Sometimes my digital scribbles take on a life of their own and before I know it I've spent hours fine tuning all the different colours and details on something that was originally meant to be a rough sketch or simply jotting down an idea. This is how Esmé came about. There's not much of a back story to her because she originally started out as an idea for a painting - she still is. She's got a slightly simpler colour pallet (well, compared to some of the more vibrant cactus pictures at least) - I've been trying to calm the drawings down a little lately but I can't help myself, I love clashing colours. She looks a bit like she's wearing face paint, which I like the idea of. The portraits begin to look composed and theatrical. The features turn into blocks of colour and eventually the people start to look like patterns too. It's a thought process still well and truly in the development stages but I'm enjoying the end product so far, so much so I've turned her into a print!

Esmé prints are now in the shop. Available in 2 sizes - A4 and A3. Open edition. And here's a little behind the scenes video over on youtube too! Bonus!

Oh Baubles!

Just finished a bunch of these ready for the Nottingham Contemporary craft fair next month (NEXT MONTH??! Where's this year going?!). Anyway, there will be a few bunches of painted cotton spools and some individual patterned baubles up for grabs. All super limited! So put the dates in your diary and head on over - 2nd - 4th December, Nottingham Contemporary. See you soon!
