happy new year!

Happy new year, happy new projects, happy new cheese belly, happy new dancing feet, happy new nap times, happy new studio days. This years already rushing along like an out of control train but I've decided what the hey, go with it. Here's a doodle from the weekend. Want to know a fun (that's debatable) fact about this picture? I accidentally turned her hair pink by mucking about with layer hues and saturations AND I DIDN'T EVEN NOTICE until it was on instagram... ha! A very happy accident. Another fun fact = I love her knees!

Anyway, hope you're all well rested and had a wonderful kick start to the new year and I cannot wait to see all the exciting things we get up to! Cheers! *clink*

(for those who like to know the deets - this doodle was done on my ipad using procreate)

Hello champions!

Just a quick note to say "hello" and "phew, time to have a break from festive fairs" - They've been so much fun but boy oh boy I'm tired. Anyway, here's a little shop update. These are the last 4 necklaces of 2017. Can't WAIT to show you all the new treats I'm planning for the new year, but right now my little (definitely not little) to do list needs a bit of TLC. Hurrah!

holiday complete.

Hey team! I am BACK in the doodle-seat and ready to go! LETS GET MAKING!

First up here's a bunch of illustrations I've been doodling recently, some over my holiday. There's no theme as such, they're just a few of my favourites I've done lately. If you follow me on instagram they're probably quite familiar already but I realised the other day I hadn't popped them up on my blog so here they are...

Now it's time to play catch up!

Bacall.

A new print and tribute to the amazing star that was Lauren Bacall, is now available in the shop. Available in 2 sizes - A4 and A3 - she comes signed on the back (by me not Lauren... sorry) and ready to add that perfect level of classy sass to any room in your home.

Here's a link to the shop!

***Also just a quick note to let you guys know I'm off on holiday at the end of the month so any orders placed after the 28th of September will be processed and shipped when I'm back in the studio on the 14th of October***

pom pom mag

Hurrah! If you pick up a copy of the new issue of Pom Pom Magazine you'll find one of my doodles accompanying a great article by Anna Maltz about slooooow fashion. I was thrilled to be given an opportunity to scribble up something special for them and so pleased with how it's come out. Taaadaaa! Go treat yourself to a copy!

New beads!

New beads! Finally! A brand new batch of these beauties have popped up in the shop. I've also got some new pendant necklaces up for grabs, there are only a few of these available but I'll make some more in the next batch. Because I'm so pleased with how they came out. I tried to do a more neutral colour scheme, believe it or not, but apparently that didn't really come about - funny isn't it how colours sometimes have a mind of their own.

Each bead is hand painted and one of a kind, which makes all of the necklaces unique. You can find them here and here!

Hey! Look who's back?!

Look who's back in stock! I've spent today tidying up the webshop and making some of the prints look super fancy (aka, popping them in a frame) and I totally stumbled across a couple of these dudes! I thought I'd sold out last summer, whoops! Well turns out not to be the case so there are 5 left in the shop at a bargain price of £15 each.

This A3 print is a risograph I designed and made during a print workshop hosted by the awesome team at Dizzy ink here in Nottingham. The creative community here in this fine and bumpy city is growing and growing and it's amazing getting opportunities to team up with fellow makers.

Anyway this 3 colour print is super limited so snap one up while you can! Here's a link to the shop!

Patterns patterns patterns, round 2!

The patterns continue! Here are a few of my favourite so far and now I look at them, they've all been drawn on my ipad! Funny how we go through phases of creating things. Anyway I honestly don't think I can pick a favourite yet, but I'm loving the faces and some of the more splodgy ones. I'm nearly up to 40/100 (phew!). 100 day projects ARE HARD but totally worth it I have to admit...

New Print! Limited edition!

After another week of being house bound thanks to builders and adventurous home related chaos I've been eagerly awaiting my return to the studio. So much so that on my first day off in ages I got up bright and early to sneak in a few hours before work! This time I had a whole bunch of digital doodles ready to get printed up BIIIG.

One of my favourite things about working on the ipad is how you can really build on your sketches and turn them into something dreamy, but also keep all the scribbly bits! I loved all of the stages this picture went through and thought I'd share them with you!

This new print is now in the shop! It'll only be available for a limited time so snap some up if you fancy a copy. MORE prints coming soon!! (as soon as my printer ink arrives.... so professional... ha!) Here's a link!

New work

These 2 new faces are some of my favourite portraits to date I think. I love the simplicity (even though I have an inner urge just to smother them in patterns and clashing colours... I'm going to resist for now). I've decided to print them up nice and big and they're now in the shop if you'd like to snap up a copy. They'll only be available for a limited time though. If you're interested in purchasing the originals I'm selling them each for £120 + postage. Feel free to drop me a message! They're much brighter in person too! Lovely colours to work with... Here's a link to the prints in the shop!

portrait time...

This original painting of a lady is now in the shop. I did a little progress video too (sped up of course, sometimes I forget how long they actually take after watching too many of these videos). The painting is on A3 thick watercolour paper and painted using waterbased paint pens on acrylic paint. The colours are rich and vibrant, and quite tricky to scan or photograph so please make allowances for slight variation in person. The watermark won't be present on the original and the painting will be signed and dated on the back. Here's a link to the shop!

sketchbook number 3!

A while back I published a cropped version of this video on instagram. Here's the full edit! One of my completed sketchbooks from cover to cover. A lot of people ask me what paints I use so here are a few details - I prime the pages with acrylic paint, mainly because the papers very fragile and the ink seems to make it fall to bits almost instantly. Then I draw straight onto it using paint pens - mainly posca and molotow, if you're curious about brands. These are waterbased acrylic pens, everything I use needs to be waterbased because I'm very skilled at dropping things. I consider it one of my many talents, ha! Anyway, I use the same process for all of my sketchbooks. It yields maximum colour output and that makes my eyes happy. Hope you enjoy!

new work

I've made a few new portraits this week and decided to pop them in the shop! Here's a link!  I've made some scans of them too and next week I'll have a go at playing around with scale and possible prints. I've also been playing around with some brush pens and now I'm inundated with pretty little faces. I have a few to give away so I'll add them as a little thank you gift to the next handful of orders made through the online shop.

I'm off to have a quiet Saturday evening out of the rain. Have a lovely weekend folks!

These little line drawings will be dished out among the next handful of orders from the online shop!

pattern mad

Hello friends! If you follow me on instagram you might've noticed my obsession with patterns. Well, I set my self the challenge of creating 100 patterns over 100 days. A pattern a day! I'm on pattern 12 today and thought it'd be nice to pick out a few of my favourites so far. For the full set, videos and much much more head over to my instagram (@amyjpeg) and take a peek. I'll keep you updated with the creme de la creme here as the project progresses :)

Happy doodling!
