new shop!

Thursday, May 2nd, 2013

Well! It’s official! I have a new shop. You can find links to the left and up above. I’m still in the process of adding a few more items (cards mainly) but it’s all up and running so far, horray! To celebrate the chicken cards are now up for sale in it and so is the new print (featured below) called ‘Dream Jug’. My etsy shop will stay open for the next month or 2 but any new treats will go straight to my new one. Thanks in advance for your patience while the switch is made! Hope you enjoy the new layout!

That’s all for now folks!

snow days like snow days

Saturday, January 19th, 2013

The snow has finally come to town. It’s brought weather warnings and ground nearly everything to a halt but that just make a it all the more fun, right? Snow is my favourite and to celebrate I made myself a new hat. For those of you who follow me on instagram (@amyjpeg) you’ve all been bombarded with snow pictures in the last 48 hours. I couldn’t resist doing a snow post on here as well. The first few are from yesterdays walk by the Trent with my ma, who’s visiting. The silly ones are from today’s Sneinton silliness.

Agnes

Saturday, January 12th, 2013

I finally finished her! She got put to one side for months because I was having a colour scheme crisis but with a bit of perseverance yesterday and some forced finishing touches, she’s here. I’m calling her Agnes. My mum referred to her as a “powerful woman” and she is and hopefully will be one of many.

new year, new prints!

Monday, January 7th, 2013

Hello again folks! The new year is here… a week of it has flown by already (gah!). To celebrate… 2 new A3 prints are now in the shop!

How was everyone’s Festivities?! Did you kick start the new year with a box of fireworks or a good book? We greeted ours armed with booze and boardgames – we even dragged ourselves up a neighbouring hill the following morning. No photographic evidence unfortunately as we climbed into a cloud and were quickly huffed and puffed back down again. Points for effort though, right?

Makeover mission – diving in… feet first

Thursday, November 22nd, 2012

I’ve been a bit quiet on the ‘Make over Mission’ front. That doesn’t mean I haven’t been trying out new combo’s over the summer and buying very random items for my wardrobe. It just turns out I’m useless and taking pictures of myself without looking like a nutter (I’m working on improving that as I type – I’ve got my next makeover mission in the pipeline). I have on the other hand been documenting my crazy looking clown feet, as I lovingly refer to them these days.

There is a reason behind the quirky footwear, a couple actually. A) I like weird shoes. comfy, big, school shoes for grown-ups = my favourite. B) As the winter weather started to sweep the nation I got fed up of boots quickly… and since I wear leggins A LOT… how else do you hide that strange moment where your leggins end and your socks begin??

I decided to go with wearing chunky socks. Patterned, plain, lumpy, handmade, odd… you name it. Just go with it. On your first outing as you walk along that dreaded thought pops into your head – “oh, crap have I left my slippers on??” (I have stood at the bus stop in my slippers before, and I’m sure I’m not the only one). Sometimes you look at your feet and think “what am I doing?!” but then you’re quickly seduced by the fact it’s fun and they look good (not to mention bloody comfy).

It’s another way to play around with layering colour and texture – neutral coloured chunky socks mixed with colourful or patterned leggins is a good way to start. If you’re not feeling brave enough to give rainbow brite a run for her money then try making your ankles the accent part of your outfit. It’s also a nice way to show off those handmade beauties you thought would never leave the living room.

Enjoy!
