SOUND IT OUT

Friday, February 25th, 2011

Here’s the poster I doodled for Jeanie Finlay’s new documentary, SOUND IT OUT. I’ve been working on it since the start of the year and today I got the email saying it’s off for a trip to the printers! I can’t wait to see it in the flesh. The film premieres at  South by Southwest (SXSW) festival and if you want to donate some pennies to help get the team there in time here’s a link! (there are rewards for donations – you can even grab yourself a copy of the poster!) – pssst, there’s only a couple of days to go!

prints and knitting

Monday, February 21st, 2011

A new print now in the shop! (first this year, I think) Titled “Looking for Trouble” it measures 8″ x 10″ and is based on some of the paintings I’ve been working on recently. Here’s a link if you missed them :)

when I’ve not been doodling/working/reading/mucking about I’ve been knitting. Back to socks as you can see – they seem to be my limbo projects. I’ve got plans (and lots of wool) to make a new cardigan but seeing as I can’t get the gauge right I’ve been putting it off. I now have 1.2 multi coloured socks. I’m a little bit in love with all these self patterning wools – of course you have to go for the bonkers colour schemes to make them worth while.

saturday shopping

Tuesday, February 15th, 2011

Found this beautiful bit of fiction in one of the local charity shops – “King Arther and the Knights of the round table”. I love the cover design. I treated myself to some tulips too and a lemon for my lentil soup. Altogether a successful and very colourful little shopping trip.

A pocketful of black cats…

Monday, February 14th, 2011

I have a book! It’s for sale in my shop! …and I can’t seem to stop adding exclamation marks to everything! It’s priced at £7! Yay! (It features 26 cat themed doodles and measures 13cm x 20cm)

Just a little note to all you etsy shoppers – I have finally converted my shop currency to GBP which means the prices are a little bit weird now in dollars. I hope this doesn’t frighten anyone away :)

besotted with bangles

Thursday, February 10th, 2011

I’m besotted with bangles. I don’t really wear them (mainly because they’re usually a bit big for me) but that doesn’t stop me admiring them. I’ve come across one that could be the one (pictured below) but the shops closed until March, I’m already counting down the days. Until then I thought I’d share some of the other shiny treasures I’d been eagerly adding to my list of favourites.

1. A gaggle of bangles by Markaplan 2.  A classic bangle by Asecondtime 3. Spotty bangle set by ComeSundown 4. Silver birch bangle by DaisyChain designs 5. Floral Patterned Bangle by SylviaAnderson – (All photo credits go to the sellers)

This is the bangle I’m smitten with – the thinner of the 2. I love the set but I think I’ll start small and see how I get on. Simple and beautiful. By DaisyChain Designs.

paintings and co.

Thursday, February 10th, 2011

Well… so far I’ve spent the day painting – I didn’t intend to, but sometimes that’s the way the cookie crumbles. I woke up with the good intentions to go hunting for supplies around town… until I opened the curtains and saw the drizzle – yuck. Instead I finished off a painting (below) and kick started 2 more. I love the wonky table and I wish that jug of flowers was real (I’m glad the wonky table isn’t – we have plenty of those).

My next mission this evening = Pizza and wine. Wish me luck :)
