Ah ha!
Thursday, October 29th, 2009It’s been ages since I’ve done a decent sized post. It didn’t help my website did a nose dive into the ‘bandwidth exceeded’ zone – oops! All sorted thought, as you can see :)
The last 24 hours have been filled with unexpected successes. I finished the 1st of many woolen Christmas gifts last night (3 gifts ticked off the list) I’ve started the next. Today I successfully posted some orders – it’s always satisfying exiting the post office with a lighter/ emptier bag. I went and filled this bag up again with wool from the wool shop. After that I took some (very late) library books back – and DIDN’T get a good telling off which made a nice change, while I was there I treated myself to a couple of Agatha Christies for the haunting weekend ahead.
I successfully purchased a pumpkin after tripping over the giant (but low down) crate of them in tesco. I got home with plenty of time to make a cup of tea and sit down to an unseen episode of Poirot (hurrah!). Carved previously mention pumpkin. I never did quite get the hang of ‘frightening’ or ‘terrifying’. I prefer the surprised look. Simple and effective too :)
I also happened to be in when the post man arrived at 3pm (!?) and have my beeeeeyoutiful new fine edition of Emma. So shiny and nice. Fingers crossed I do a better job reading Emma than I did Sense and Sensibility.
I printed some more cards and now it’s time for me to work on some custom designs before friendly faces arrive armed with take out menus, movies, pop corn and good company :) Today is a good day indeed.
A day of doodling
Monday, October 19th, 2009I went to Southwell Minster this weekend to take part in the Big Draw. I did plenty of doodling but I was a party pooper and brought my pictures home with me instead of adding them to the displays. Now I have no idea what to do with them. So I thought I would do a little give away. I have 3 illustrations to dish out. If you want to get hold of one here’s how to do it:
Tell me:
What do you enjoy drawing/ doodling?
I tend to draw foxes, badgers, cats, clouds, trees and birds on repeat. Oh and tea cups too.
Click on the pictures to take you to flickr and leave your comments there. I will select 3 winners at the end of the month at random and send each of you a doodle. Horray!
They’ve arrived!
Thursday, October 15th, 2009The new badges are here. I was worried they’d been lost in the post but ta daa! I spent all morning packaging them up and designing professional looking tags for them. I’m quite impressed even if I do say so myself :)
I’ll put them in the shops later today. For now it’s 2:40 and I’m still in my pjs… shocking.
In the shops now!
As promised…

As promised a new large print for October. Now up for sale in the shops. Measures 13 inches by 19 inches. Printed on archival watercolour paper using archival epson inks. Beautiful colours and the details lovely and crisp. Enjoy!
Winter warmers
Monday, October 12th, 2009It’s soo so nice watching this new site grow. I feel like I’m fattening it up for winter, with what appears to be daily post action. You do feel anxious leaving behind old blogs/sites. I tried to move the archive from the old drawing on tables blog to this one but it just didn’t seem right. There’s a time and a place for starting a fresh and that was definitely now.
On another page: I’m thinking about starting some new knitting projects too (as you can see form the wool displayed below). I have millions of scarves – one more GIANT one can’t hurt, right? And If I’m happy with the outcome and the price – possible Christmas gifts I think. I started a woolen gift a couple of months ago and I still haven’t got round to finishing it. I picked quite a frilly stitch so it takes a bit of getting used to and a bit of counting – since I usually do my knitting at work (which is strongly advised now there’s a wool hungry kitten in the home) I get side tracked and interrupted so keeping count is tricky. Anyway, that project is temporarily on a shelf. Right now, I want BIG wool (I’m definitely a fickle knitter). These are some of the colours I’m hoping to find in the shops this afternoon. Fingers crossed!
